January 2017 MLC

Arrival of the Mission Leadership Council.  Often these missionaries have not seen each other for a very long time.

The kitchen is a favorite gathering place.

I guess these elders got the "memo"...
Spiritual thought
This seems to be the favorite activity before bed...

Breakfast before personal study and training.

The sun arises at 8AM.

Ready for Mission Leadership Council.  As Elder Ballard has said, Councils are to receive revelation.  That is exactly what happens in these councils.  These missionaries are so faithful and inspired.  This mission is in good hands.
These four came to give a presentation on how Denmark can better utilize technology.  Denmark will not be receiving missionary ipads, but we have an effective plan.

Training by the assistants.
A big lunch before heading back to their areas.
The O'Bryant family's favorite chili.

January 2017 arrival.

Definitely late...but well worth the wait!  We were so happy to finally receive Elder Hamp.  Once in awhile, we receive only one missionary in a transfer.  That means they have 6 weeks (for Denmark) in the MTC learning the language "one on one".   They are grouped with another mission's missionaries , and then they travel alone to Denmark.  Most of the time, this is their first trip outside of the U.S.A.  That alone, can be very daunting.  This was the case for Elder Hamp, and one more thing...he wasn't able to make the connection from Paris to Denmark on time.  Therefore, he arrived 6 hours later than planned.   He was exhausted but calm, and ready to serve. His companion, Elder Smith, was as anxious as President and I.  The bond of missionaries is real.  We are so blessed!

Egg omelettes, bacon , toast and danish pastry for breakfast.

Ready for his first day in the land.  God be with you elder<3

First stop of the day, orientation in the office...and Elder Hamp's first taste of traditional Smorebrod (Danish sandwiches).

January 2017 Departures

Departures get started with interviews, then Dinner.  Chicken enchiladas, Mexican rice, salad and homemade bread sticks  seem to be a favorite.  Anything they ask for, they deserve:)  We finish the "My Plan" talks and then testimonies.  We will miss these faithful disciples.  We are blessed to have known them and served with them.

Departures are truly bitter sweet.
God bless you Elders!
Here is what a transfer looks like for these missionaries.  They are remarkable and can do almost anything!

Another awesome sunset...Denmark is beautiful!
