Mission Conference with Elder Andersen, President Kearon and wives- May 2017

The Denmark, Copenhagen mission was blessed with a visit from Elder Andersen, his wife, and President Kearon and his wife.  We anticipated this day for several months.  The missionaries were well-prepared:  Suits cleaned, shoes shined, fasting and prayer and, of course, prepared with inspired questions.  It was a day of wonderful counsel with the spirit testifying of the trufulness of the words spoken.  We were left with a feeling of being rededicated to hastening the Lord's work here in Denmark and Iceland.  The field is ripe and ready to harvest.  Our baptisms this month have doubled and these missionaries have the faith to find, teach repentance and baptize.

This is what happens when, during a photo shoot, a couple comes to sit down and President excuses himself  to "contact".
We were so happy to have our Icelandic missionaries and senior couples visit Denmark for the Mission Conference.  We love these faithful servants<3

Senior Arrivals and Departures May 2017

Look who we have just picked up from the airport!  Elder and Sister Johnson have joined us from Gilbert, Arizona.  They are here to work in the mission office.  We are so grateful for these faithful, dedicated and well-prepared disciples who part with  family and home to serve the Lord here in Denmark.
Our traditional arrival/departing dinner with the senior missionaries in Sjaelland.  Good food, testimonies shared and love for all expressed.

We will miss the Buxtons.  They arrived soon after we arrived in the mission and we have learned to depend on them and their expertise.  We love them and our prayers go with them.
Thank goodness for Elder and Sister Johnson who are being trained in the office by Elder and Sister Buxton.
Just  few days later, at 4AM we said good-bye to the Buxtons.  We have truly relied on their talents and have truly loved them.  Thank you for your dedication and service.  We miss you already!  Kom godt hjem<3

"Thirty Days in the Land" and "My Plan" training-May 2017

The Training Missionaries and their Trainers arrive Tuesday evening for snacks (or sometimes Kebabs) before we begin training.  The mission home is currently undergoing some construction downstairs.  Therefore we were not able to play ping pong, but we still had a great time.
Breakfast at 7:30A of traditional breakfast burritos;)

After clean up and sacred study time, we are gathered and ready for a day of training.  President takes the most effective training from the last year and brings these missionaries up to date:  1) Becoming a self-sufficient PMG missionary  2) Using time wisely  3) Teaching for understanding  4) We invite, They commit, We follow-up  5) Becoming Epistles of the Lord  6) Repentance  7) Improved finding  8) Loving your mission.
We appreciate these missionaries for their talents.  Elder Saviano accompanied the hymns for the meeting.
White handbook training...(in Danish)
Language training.
Assistants training on striving for "The perfect day".
Role playing...

Traditional McDonalds lunch.

Per request:  Homemade enchiladas, Refried beans, spanish rice...

Homemade strawberry pie and ice cream for dessert.
Early traditional breakfast of Baked French Toast before we head to Copenhagen for another day of training.

You can imagine it's not easy for 16 elders to shower (with one shower) and show up on time for breakfast.  But they do their best:)
They are great examples of being "ready to serve, not to be served".

Since our assistants are both part of the "My Plan" today, our zone leaders took over the training for the "Trainee" Training.

President and I train on "Enduring to the end" and "My Plan" for easier adjustment after the mission.  I must say that this group of 20 is going to be sorely missed.  It's not easy losing so many of the most experienced, dedicated and most effective missionaries.  We have truly loved these humble disciples.  Tears were definitely a part of this meeting today:(

Elder and Sister Johnson are our new office couple.  We can't say enough about our appreciation for these wonderful dedicated senior missionaries.
Traditional Dominos Pizza lunch.
Perfect ending to a three day training in the Copenhagen Temple.
We couldn't find anyone to walk by a take a picture...so THANKS President:)
Such a beautiful time of year in Denmark.
Tulips everywhere we look.  We can't help but feel the blessings of working alongside such dedicated missionaries, senior and young, and in such a beautiful country with such rich ancestral heritage.  We love the Denmark, Copenhagen mission!
